VLGMA participates in the Block Membership option offered by the National Association of County Administrators (NACA). NACA is an affiliate of ICMA and the National Association of Counties (NACo). NACA is a professional association of county administrators (as well as deputy, assistant County Administrators, and any county staff, regardless of title, who are directly responsible to the governing body or elected chief executive and whose duties are primarily devoted to general administration or management of county services).
State associations such as VLGMA can opt into the block membership category, which allows members to join NACA at a reduced membership rate of $50 per person. You do not need to be an ICMA member to join NACA, but of course that is highly encouraged. You do need to be a VLGMA member to take advantage of the block membership rate. Under block membership, if you already are a member of NACA, VLGMA will note that on your annual dues invoice and you will pay your $50 NACA dues along with your VLGMA dues.
